PhysiSurface
Softline
Rubber surfacing for fitness, recreation, and active-use spaces that need more than plain hardscape.
A Surface That Keeps Up
PhysiSurface is Softline’s surfacing system for outdoor fitness and recreational environments. It is designed for spaces where people move, train, and play, but where formal playground fall-height compliance is not the primary requirement.
It gives project teams a more comfortable, more purpose-built, and more visually finished recreation surface than simply defaulting to concrete or generic hardscape.

Why PhysiSurface stands out

Built for recreation, not playground fall zones
PhysiSurface is designed for fitness and recreation spaces where movement and usability matter, but where the project is not primarily driven by playground fall-height requirements.
More comfortable for active use
Compared with rigid hardscape, PhysiSurface has a more forgiving feel underfoot. That reduces impact on knees and joints during repeated exercise and helps create more inviting outdoor fitness and recreation spaces.
Permeable for outdoor conditions
Water can move through the surface into the sub-base below, making the system practical for outdoor recreation settings where drainage matters.
Design and colour options that last
PhysiSurface supports extensive colour and design flexibility, and the colour holds up far better than line painting or coloured concrete over time. Instead of fading markings and touch-up cycles, you get a surface that keeps its finished look well into its service life.
What PhysiSurface is designed for
PhysiSurface is well suited for:
outdoor fitness areas
Exercise pods
active-use recreation spaces
basketball areas
pickleball areas
multi-use community recreation zones

How the system works
PhysiSurface is a rubber surfacing system that can be configured around the realities of your site, whether you are building from scratch or working with an existing slab.
New build
Installed as a two-layer system over a prepared granular sub-base, with:
a 1" regulating layer below
a 3/4" topping layer above
Existing hard surface (concrete or asphalt)
Installed as a single 3/4" topping layer applied directly over the existing slab, giving sound concrete or asphalt a new, purpose-built recreation finish without a full rebuild.
That gives project teams flexibility depending on budget, site conditions, and whether the base is already in place.

Build a better active-use environment
If your project needs a surface for fitness, movement, or outdoor recreation—and plain concrete is not enough—PhysiSurface gives you a more purpose-built solution.
